Mirroring Love

Should I ask… what do you see?
Me looking at you, looking at me
A picture of me… boy, man, could be lover
What I am, what I could be, or something other
Than here and now, this moment and time
Because all that I can find
Is you and me, us
And that is enough

Trembling, why am I cold, why should I fear?
Are you here; are you real?
Here in the night, lost in the
dark
But never apart, these two hearts
How could I ever stray?
The monsters kept at bay
So in you I trust
And that is enough

As the goose bumps appear on my
skin
I wonder, what is my sin
To feel such need, such heat
Am I not greatly deceived?
By my very own reflection
Looking in your direction
Yet I have your touch
And that is enough

Letting our words fall short
Imagine what lips are for
When with just your kiss
This I know is bliss
Invisible to us or unseen
You and me to be
Such passion and lust
And that is enough

Or so I tell myself
Do I fall or have I fell
For what reflections don’t show
All that I don’t know
Could you be the one?
Shouldn’t mourn the sun
We’re mirroring love
And that is enough
